You can’t walk on it right away—curing times vary by material—but we’ll tell you exactly when it’s safe to move furniture back in. And if something doesn’t look right or feel right, you tell us before we leave and we make it right.

We install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile, and carpet. The right choice depends on the room, your budget, and what kind of wear it’s going to see.
Hardwood works beautifully in living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. It adds value and it lasts. But in South Huntington, where humidity swings are real, you need the right species and proper acclimation. White oak and maple handle moisture shifts better than some other options. We don’t skip that step.
Vinyl plank is a smart move for basements, bathrooms, mudrooms—anywhere water’s a concern. It’s waterproof, it’s durable, and the good stuff looks nearly identical to hardwood. Laminate gives you a similar look at a lower price point, though it doesn’t handle moisture as well.
Tile makes sense in entryways and kitchens. Porcelain holds up to snow, salt, and spills without staining or cracking. And if you’ve got radiant heat or you’re near flood-prone areas, tile’s one of the safest bets you can make.
We’re not going to upsell you into something you don’t need. If vinyl makes more sense than hardwood for your situation, we’ll tell you. If your subfloor needs work before anything gets installed, we’ll tell you that too.
For most homes, you’re looking at somewhere between $1,500 and $4,500 depending on the size of the area and what material you choose. Vinyl and laminate sit on the lower end. Hardwood and tile cost more.
The price also depends on what’s underneath. If your subfloor is damaged, uneven, or has moisture issues, that needs to get fixed first. Skipping that step just means your new floor fails early and you’re paying to redo it.
We give you the full number up front. You’ll know what the materials cost, what labor costs, and if there’s any prep work that adds to the total. No surprises halfway through the job.
Most single-room projects take one to three days. A straightforward bedroom with no subfloor issues might be done in a day. A kitchen with tile, underlayment, and prep work could take three.
The timeline also depends on whether we’re removing old flooring. Pulling up carpet is faster than removing glued-down vinyl or old tile. And if we find something underneath that needs attention—rotted wood, uneven concrete—that adds time.
We’ll give you a realistic schedule before we start. And if something comes up that changes the timeline, you’ll know about it right away. You’re not getting home at the end of the day wondering why we’re still there.
Tile and luxury vinyl are your most humidity-proof options. They don’t expand, contract, or warp when moisture levels shift. That makes them ideal for basements, bathrooms, and kitchens.
Hardwood can absolutely work in South Huntington homes, but it needs to be installed correctly. The wood has to acclimate to your home’s humidity before installation. You need the right species—white oak and maple are more stable than others. And if your home doesn’t have good ventilation or climate control, you’re taking a risk.
Laminate is the least forgiving when it comes to moisture. A little water on the surface is fine if you clean it up quickly, but if it gets between the planks or soaks into the core, it swells and you’re replacing it. We don’t recommend laminate in bathrooms, basements, or anywhere flooding is a possibility.
Yes. We need the rooms completely clear before we start. That means furniture, rugs, floor lamps—anything sitting on the floor needs to be out.
Some flooring contractors offer moving services for an extra fee, but we don’t, and it’s usually easier and cheaper to handle it yourself or hire movers. If you’ve got heavy furniture like a piano or a massive sectional, let us know ahead of time and we can talk through options.
The other thing to plan for: you won’t be able to walk through those rooms while we’re working. If we’re doing your main hallway, you might need to go around through another part of the house. If it’s a kitchen, you won’t have access to your sink or stove until we’re done. We’ll talk through all of that during the estimate so there are no surprises.
Yes, especially if you’re installing hardwood. Buyers in Suffolk County consistently rank updated flooring as one of the top features they’re looking for, and homes with hardwood tend to sell faster and for more money than homes with worn carpet or outdated vinyl.
Even if you’re not selling soon, flooring affects how your home feels every single day. Dated or damaged floors make everything look worse. Fresh floors make the whole space feel cleaner, newer, and more put-together.
That said, a bad installation can hurt your value just as much as old flooring. If the planks are uneven, the grout lines are sloppy, or the seams are visible, buyers notice. That’s why working with a skilled flooring contractor matters. You’re not just paying for materials—you’re paying for work that actually adds value instead of creating problems you’ll have to explain later.
A flooring company specializes in one thing. They do it all day, every day. A general contractor might install floors as part of a larger remodel, but it’s not their primary focus.
That doesn’t mean one is automatically better than the other. It depends on the scope of your project. If you’re redoing your whole kitchen and the floor is just one piece, a general contractor who can handle cabinets, countertops, and flooring might make more sense. If you’re just replacing floors and you want someone who’s done hundreds of installs and knows how to handle tricky subfloors or tough transitions, you probably want a dedicated flooring contractor.
