Weather doesn’t usually affect interior flooring work, but material delivery times can. Carpet always gets pulled. There’s no scenario where you’re installing new flooring over carpet and getting a good result. Same with floors that are buckling, water-damaged, or uneven—those need to be addressed at the subfloor level or the new floor will just repeat the same problems.
We assess this during the estimate. If we can save you the cost and mess of a full demo, we will. But if the existing floor is going to cause issues down the road, we’ll tell you that too. Cutting corners on prep work might save a few bucks now, but it costs more when the floor fails early and has to be redone. We’d rather do it right the first time.
